Report Cards and Mrs. Reeves

Report Cards are coming home today!

Please take time to look them over and return the large white envelope it came home in with your signature on the front to us.

Also, please welcome Mrs. Reeves, our student teacher from Reinhardt University. She will be working with us until May and is very excited to be help your children learn this year.

Home Work Plan for Kindergarten

Dear Kindergarten Parents, Due to the school closures related to COVID-19, we are now moving to a digital learning plan in order to continue our learning. Each day your child should: Complete at least 10 minutes or a lesson on ReadingEggs or read on Raz-Kids and complete quizzes  Complete at least 10 minutes or a lesson on MathSeeds or Dreambox Read a story with your family ·        Write a sentence or more about your favorite part of the story in a journal or on a piece of paper. Work on the homework for the week which will be posted Monday March 16 th by 9:00 am. Holly Says.....

Holly says thank you to everyone who helped her understand what she should and should not bark at today. She knows now that birds have beaks, wings, feathers and two legs and do not try sneak through her doggie door like the other critters!

KIndergator Update 9.14

I am watching a 6 year old jump off a high diving board here at Georgia Tech as I type this. There is so much excitement and fear at the same time in her eyes as she gets ready to jump. It reminds me of how our kiddos look right before they sound out a big word in class. It is such fun to watch. Here are some things we worked on this week: Reading: We continued blending sounds together in guided reading groups. We began introducing the “letters that work together to make one sound” trick with blends like (sw, sn, st, sp). We also began our study of the parts of a story by discussing characters. Did you know anything can me a character if you write a story about it? We read about a blue dot as a character and a chameleon. We also reviewed th difference between real reading and fake fiction through our topic of chameleons this week. Math: We finished naming all the 2d shapes and describing them.
