Kindergator Update 8.24

We are full swing in kindergarten with lots going on. We loved reading through the homework and what the children pledged to do or not do. We had someone pledging to buy her mom lots of diamond earrings and someone else pledging not to eat flowers anymore. We cannot express how fun checking homework is for us. We learned about Hatchimoles, Kinder Joys, and Sparkle Friends as the children told us what they had more then 10 of in their house. And it turns out Jackson and I have the same number of chairs! Here are some of the things we learned about this week: Reading: We finished looking at real reading (non-fiction) features in our alligator books. We found photographs, videos, maps, captions, labels, and diagrams. Today we compared a real reading book with a fake fiction book about bringing an alligator to school. Send Good Thoughts

Please keep one of our kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Barnwell, and her family in your thoughts. She lost her father over the weekend after a somewhat quick illness and has taken this week to say goodbye. We hope all our Addison families will send kind thoughts her way.
