KIndergator Update 10.12.19

We have a whole pumpkin patch in class thanks to you! Next week we will be busy carving and rolling them and hopefully, if my plan matched my cooking skill, eating their insides! Reading: We are still working hard on “how to retell a story” starting with characters and setting then moving on to the conflict and resolution. We still have lots of kiddos starting their retelling with a pronoun instead of the character’s name or description so we might be working on this skill for a bit longer.   We are continuing with blending sounds and introduced the “trick” of letters that work together to make a sound in some of our groups this week with the sw, sc, and st sounds. We reviewed the difference between real reading and fake fiction as we leaned some cool things about pumpkins. Did you know they are fruit? Berries? Related to the cucumber family?
