Field Trip Forms

Field Trip Permission Forms were sent home with your child today. Please sign and return them with the payment envelope as soon as possible. Please write on the back of the form whether your child will be bringing a lunch from home that day (in a paper sack, no lunchboxes) or will be purchasing a sack lunch from the school for the trip.

Home Work Plan for Kindergarten

Dear Kindergarten Parents, Due to the school closures related to COVID-19, we are now moving to a digital learning plan in order to continue our learning. Each day your child should: Complete at least 10 minutes or a lesson on ReadingEggs or read on Raz-Kids and complete quizzes  Complete at least 10 minutes or a lesson on MathSeeds or Dreambox Read a story with your family ·        Write a sentence or more about your favorite part of the story in a journal or on a piece of paper. Work on the homework for the week which will be posted Monday March 16 th by 9:00 am. KIndergator Update 9.14

I am watching a 6 year old jump off a high diving board here at Georgia Tech as I type this. There is so much excitement and fear at the same time in her eyes as she gets ready to jump. It reminds me of how our kiddos look right before they sound out a big word in class. It is such fun to watch. Here are some things we worked on this week: Reading: We continued blending sounds together in guided reading groups. We began introducing the “letters that work together to make one sound” trick with blends like (sw, sn, st, sp). We also began our study of the parts of a story by discussing characters. Did you know anything can me a character if you write a story about it? We read about a blue dot as a character and a chameleon. We also reviewed th difference between real reading and fake fiction through our topic of chameleons this week. Math: We finished naming all the 2d shapes and describing them.
